Who we are
Auto Autos ("we", "us") operates a platform that lets car-care businesses — garages, detailers, storage, and concierge services ("garages") — sell maintenance subscriptions to their customers. The platform consists of this website (autoautos.club), the garage dashboard at garage.autoautos.club, and the Auto Autos customer app for iOS and Android.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to garage staff, garage customers, and visitors to this website. For questions or requests about your data, contact us at [email protected].
The data we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and optional profile details, collected when you create an account. Sign-in and account security are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Garage business details. For garages: business name, contact details, branding, plans, and pricing, plus the verification details we review before a garage can take customers.
- Vehicle and service records. Vehicles you add (make, model, registration), booking requests, job records, service history, and photos attached to jobs.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive limited information such as payment status, amounts, and the last digits of the card used, so we can show billing history and operate the platform fee.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as device type, app version, language, and push notification tokens, used to run and improve the service.
- Communications. Messages you send us, and the reminders and notifications we send you (push and email), such as service and MOT/ITV reminders.
How we use your data
- To provide the platform: accounts, subscriptions, bookings, vehicle logs, and reminders.
- To connect customers with their chosen garages and let garages manage their work.
- To process subscription payments and payouts through Stripe.
- To send service-related notifications you'd expect, like booking updates and due-work reminders.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the product, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Legal bases
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running your account and subscriptions), legitimate interests (securing and improving the service), legal obligation (tax and accounting records), and consent where required (for example, some notifications), which you can withdraw at any time.
Your garage and your data
When you subscribe to a garage, that garage sees the information it needs to serve you: your name and contact details, your vehicles, your plan, and the service history it records for you. Garages are independent businesses responsible for how they use the customer information they hold — their own privacy practices apply alongside this policy.
Who we share data with
- Your garage (or your customers, if you run a garage), as described above.
- Stripe, for payment processing, payouts, and fraud prevention.
- Clerk, for authentication and account security.
- Service providers that host our infrastructure and deliver emails and push notifications, under contracts that limit what they can do with the data.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our rights and users.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons. Service history recorded by a garage may be retained by that garage as part of its own business records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). You can delete your account from within the app, or contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.
Children
Auto Autos is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
